Connotations of an Advert

 denotation: there's a can of dr. pepper cream flavoured and yellow and white stripes going outward from the can. there's also text saying "limited edition"

connotation: the yellow and white stripes show that the flavour of the cream dr. pepper will be shooting out of the can. the text "limited edition" tells us that the flavour is so good that the demand will be so massive they have to make it limited.

language: the jujutsu kaisen poster has 2 characters who appear to be fighting mid air with one with a sword showing its a action filled movie with fighting. the fact that they are mid air tells us that the characters in this movie might have powers. since it says part 1 means they know the movie will be good enough to make another movie. industry: the movie was made by Mappa and was directed by Shota Goshozono and Yosuke Takada but the series that this movie inspired by is originally made by Gege Atukami. audience: the target audience seems to be for people from the age's 16-25 and people who enjoy action filled movies with lots of fighting, but many targeted towards male audience. representation: this poster represents teenagers as the type to get into fights and to be violent.
